A reminder of how you can access health and counseling services:

Dear students,

This comes to remind you of how you can access health and counseling services:

Health services:

  • On campus

  • Students must use the campus clinic to get help and be referred to a hospital if needed.

  • The nurse office is always open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

  • At the dormitory

  • On working days, the student must visit first the campus clinic to get help

  • During the night and on weekend, the student must contact the RA to inform him about his/her sickness, then go to the hospital for health assistance and inform the Nurse.

  • In case of emergency, the student must contact the RA for help to get to the hospital, then contact the Nurse.

  • Note:

  • Students are not allowed to email the Nurse on working days saying that they got sick while staying at the dormitory. They need to come to the campus clinic for help.

  • If it happens to go directly to the hospital, the student must email the Nurse, Dolline and the CFs for the classes he/she will miss.

  • The student must bring medical documents to the Nurse office within 24 hours to be excused from his/her absence.

  • If the student needs to rest more than one day, he/she will ask a sick leave document to the doctor and bring it to the nurse office.

  • Rwandan students are required to use their health insurance (public or private) to help them to access health services at a low cost once referred to a hospital.

  • Kepler reimburses the health expenses not covered by the insurance.

  • International students are provided with a package of RWF 70,000 per year for their health expenses since they can't access public insurance and the private one is costly. This is reimbursed for expenses with receipts provided.

  • When a student is required to spend more than that amount on health services, the student meets with the Nurse and Registrar about possibilities for Kepler support in paying back the extra expenses.·

Counseling service:

  • You can get an appointment by filling out the counseling request form that is sent to you on a monthly basis. The counselor will then contact you personally to arrange a meeting.

  • You can also request an appointment via this email: justine.mukamwezi@kepler.org.

  • You can also request an appointment in person at the counseling office. The Counseling office is open Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm.
