Presentation abstract: Transportation is a fundamental motor for economic development in any countries, and Rwanda is no exception. The world would be at a standstill if its transport systems were not functional, i.e. people would not be able to access work, schools and other basic services without proper roads, public transport, etc. Economic activities such as trade obviously depend on a functional transport system. The Government of Rwanda, together with the Private Sector, has implemented a number of programs to upgrade our transport system, and there are many more initiatives in the pipeline. This talk will take participants through a discussion of what a functional transport system (though this could be too idealistic) looks like and what the Government of Rwanda is doing to keep/ gear our system towards a good shape.
