Aurore Umutesi is a course facilitator here at Kepler Kigali, where she facilitates students in several academic courses, since 2013. Aurore always demonstrates grit and strong passion to help Kepler students reaching their academic success. She is a wonderful individual and contributes a lot to the Kepler community’s success. Here is a short conversation that Aurore had with our Keep Up Kepler editor.

KUK: When did you started to work as a course facilitator here at Kepler?

Aurore: I started to work as a course facilitator here at Kepler in October 2013

KUK: Since then, is there anything you have learnt from Kepler community? if yes, what is it?

Aurore : I have learned many things from Kepler, and some of them are;

Teamwork is very important because you learn from others in every circumstance. I am not capable of doing everything alone.

I am in a learning environment and constantly gaining knowledge is important for my growth.

The decisions I make affect others - staff and students alike. It is always important to consider others before making decisions that might affect them.

As a great community, we can accomplish many things together and bring change where it is needed.

KUK: What is one thing that you like most about Kepler students?

Aurore: Kepler students are hard workers and are willing to move past their comfort zone to gain more knowledge and experience.

KUK: What do you think Kepler students should improve in their daily learning habits, and professional life?

Aurore: I think that Kepler students should have a mindset of a constant learner. They need to understand that the decisions they make about their learning habits and professional growth will determine where they end up in life. They also need to keep in mind that a team accomplishes more.

KUK: Is there any quote or message that you would like people in Kepler community to always keep in mind?

Aurore: Mahatma Gandhi said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." I believe that we should take the first step to bring that change in areas of our lives and communities where we see the necessity. We cannot always wait for others to make those decisions.
