Fire Drill: Process & Procedures
During the month of January we will have at least 1 fire drill to help us to prepare if there were to be a fire on campus. There will be loud whistles that start in the office. When this cue is heard you will:
1. Do not panic. Even if this were an emergency, you should remain calm.
2. Be silent and listen to your instructor for directions *If you are not in a class but on campus, you should immediately head for the exit in front of the building. If it is possible to safely cross the street, do so.
3. Line-up quietly and orderly. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BELONGINGS! If this were an emergency, you would want to exit as quickly as possible.
4. Exit the building in a line following the exit map which will be posted in your classroom
5. Remain with your instructor as attendance will be taken outside. *If you are in the bathroom our outside of the classroom at the time, please head to the exit and find your instructor or Robert outside.
6. Wait for instructions.
It is very important that everyone remain calm and quiet. In emergency situations, it is more likely for people to get injured if it is not orderly.
Please speak with Beata or Fausta if you have concerns about the sudden loud noise and they can brief you on when the fire drill will occur.
Thank you.
